Terms of sale

These are the terms on which a subscription to SATs Practice Arena is sold. They are meant to be read, so they are written in ordinary English. Nothing here takes away rights you have under UK consumer law.

Who you are buying from

This service is not yet on sale. Payments are switched off while it is being finished, so nothing on this page is a live offer and no contract of sale exists yet. The seller's name and address will be published here before any payment can be taken — you will never be asked to buy from someone you cannot identify. Questions in the meantime go to info@satspracticearena.co.uk.

These terms apply from the moment you complete a purchase. The contract is between us and the adult who pays — not the child using the account.

You need to be 18 or over to buy a subscription.

What you are buying

Access for one child, on one account, to the full question bank: all 3,642 KS2 questions, every past paper from 2016 to 2025, the full mock tests, and the detailed progress report on the grown-ups' dashboard.

It is a subscription to digital content delivered over the internet. There is nothing to post and nothing to install.

There is no free trial. The free tier — 240 questions and the standard dashboard — is permanently free and needs no card, so you can see what the service is like before paying anything.

Access begins as soon as the payment succeeds, normally within a few seconds.

Prices and payment

Changing your mind — 14 days

You can have a full refund if you ask within 14 days of your first payment. No explanation is needed and we will not ask you for one.

Email info@satspracticearena.co.uk from the address on the account. We will refund to the card you paid with, and Stripe usually takes a few working days to return it.

This applies to your first purchase. It also applies to a renewal you did not intend — see below, where we are more generous than the law requires.

Refunds after 14 days, and on renewals

Unwanted renewals. If a subscription renews and you had meant to cancel, email us within 14 days of that payment and we will refund it, provided the account has barely been used since. We would rather refund an honest mistake than keep money from someone who does not want the service.

If the service is broken. If something we should have provided does not work and we cannot fix it in reasonable time, you are entitled to a refund or a repeat performance under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Tell us and we will sort it out.

Otherwise. Outside those cases we do not refund part-used periods — you keep access until the period you paid for ends.

None of this affects your statutory rights, which always apply whatever a policy like this says.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time from the grown-ups' dashboard: Manage subscription, then cancel. It takes two clicks, it is Stripe's own screen, and there is no retention offer to click past and no requirement to email anyone.

Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not end your access immediately — you keep the full plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account then returns to the free tier.

Your practice history is not deleted when you cancel. It stays on the account, and the standard dashboard keeps working. If you want the data deleted as well, that is a separate request — see the privacy notice.

We can also cancel, with 30 days' notice and a proportionate refund, if we ever stop offering the service.

If a payment fails

If a renewal payment fails — an expired card is the usual reason — the account returns to the free tier until the payment goes through. Nothing is lost; the history and the account stay exactly as they were.

Stripe will normally retry, and you can fix the card yourself from Manage subscription on the dashboard.

We do not charge a fee for a failed payment.

What we do and do not promise

We aim to keep the service available at all times, but we cannot promise it is never interrupted. Maintenance, and faults at the hosting and database providers we depend on, do sometimes happen.

We do not promise any particular exam result. No practice service honestly can. What we provide is genuine past-paper questions, accurate marking and a clear picture of where marks are being lost.

The question bank and the site's features may change over time as papers are added and things are improved. We will not materially reduce what a paid plan includes during a period you have paid for.

We are responsible for loss we cause by breaking this contract or by failing to use reasonable care, but not for losses that were not foreseeable when you bought. We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud — the law does not allow that, and we would not want to.

Using the content

Your subscription is for one child in one household, for personal, non-commercial use.

Please do not share the login outside your household, copy the questions out to distribute, or use the material to run a class or a tutoring business. If you want to use it with a group, email us — see the contact page.

The national curriculum test materials themselves are Crown copyright, published by the Department for Education, and are freely available from gov.uk. What we add — the marking, the analysis, the interface and the guides — is ours.

We may suspend an account that is being shared widely or used commercially. We would email first.

Accounts and children

The account is set up and paid for by an adult, using an adult's email address, and the child signs in with the same details.

Everything to do with money lives on the grown-ups' dashboard, behind that adult's password. A child using the game never sees a price, an upgrade prompt or a buy button, and cannot buy anything.

Please keep the password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on the account, so if you think someone else has the password, change it.

If something goes wrong

Email info@satspracticearena.co.uk and tell us what happened. Most things are a misunderstanding or a bug and get fixed quickly.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you have the usual routes open to you as a consumer, including the Citizens Advice consumer service and, ultimately, the courts.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, the version on this page changes and the date below changes with it. Changes that affect an existing subscription will be emailed to account holders first.

The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published when you made it.

These terms were last updated on 2026-08-07.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a refund from SATs Practice Arena?

Yes. A full refund is available if you ask within 14 days of your first payment, with no explanation needed. Unintended renewals are also refunded if you email within 14 days and the account has barely been used since.

How do I cancel my SATs Practice Arena subscription?

From the grown-ups' dashboard, choose Manage subscription and cancel. It takes two clicks. Cancelling stops the next payment, and access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Does the subscription renew automatically?

Yes. Monthly plans renew each month and yearly plans each year, at the same price, until you cancel. There is no free trial that converts into a paid plan.

What happens to my child's results if I cancel?

Nothing is deleted. The practice history stays on the account and the standard free dashboard keeps working. Deleting the data is a separate request you can make by email.

Are there any extra fees?

No. The price shown at checkout is the total charged, and there is no fee if a payment fails.
